ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

Department of Medicine was established in 1956,

Over the years, it has grown and expanded to meet the needs of the growing community and to maintain its high standard of medical care. This growth has led to the creation of separate departments in multiple medical branches, including Nephrology, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Hematology-Oncology, Endocrinology, and Infectious Diseases.

The remaining qualified and experienced physicians in the field of Rheumatology, Pulmonary diseases, and Allergy and Immunology have the challenges to follow and be independent departments.

The Department includes several Clinical Teaching Units (CTU) that cover all areas of the General Hospital to provide comprehensive medical care and respond to the other hospital departments’ consultations, which offer opportunities for juniors to acquire knowledge and build up their skills.

The Department of Medicine also provides psychiatric consultation services through a devoted team of psychiatrists
